Tragedy in San Vicente: Four Dead in Accident

Four friends lost their lives in a tragic accident in San Vicente while returning from an electronic party. Four other young people are in serious condition in the hospital as a result of the incident. The tragedy occurred in the early hours of Monday at the intersection of Route 6 and Route 16. A Volkswagen Amarok V6 pickup truck, in which the young people were traveling, veered off the road and overturned. Eight friends were in the vehicle, five in the cabin and three in the truck bed.

Two of the young people died on the spot, while the other six were taken to Dr. Ramón Carrillo Hospital in San Vicente. Subsequently, it was reported that two of the survivors also passed away, raising the death toll to four victims of the accident. The remaining four friends remain hospitalized in serious condition.

The young people were returning from an electronic party in a field in Cañuelas when the pickup truck left the road at a roundabout and overturned. The driver tested positive for alcohol with 1.43 grams of alcohol per liter of blood. The identities of all the occupants of the vehicle have been disclosed: Juan Cruz Millán, Raúl Velo, Agustina Sánchez, and Paula Melgarejo, who were injured.

Among the victims were Andrés Paveleka, Tamara Belén Carrizo, Julieta Bayser, and Lucía Bruno. The case has been classified as involuntary manslaughter and negligent injuries, and is being investigated by the Decentralized UFI of San Vicente, led by prosecutor Karina Guyot.
